Most movies are based on books. In this case the book is based on a movie…. based on real events. Dragonfly is the award-winning animated short film which tells the story of a family facing an unbelievable set of circumstances and is saved by something, or someone, beyond their control. 

The candid narration is set to beautifully nostalgic illustrations that give the viewer a familiar storybook feel. With soft, pastel watercolors and simple, clean images, Dragonfly paints a wonderful picture of what the bittersweet warmth of grief feels like. At times cute and entertaining, exciting and funny, and eventually heart-breaking and heart-warming, Dragonfly is a classic joyful experience that leaves the viewer feeling like they are being wrapped in a great big hug.

Dragonfly has screened at festivals nationwide, winning awards for Best Animation, the Limelight Award - Women in Film, was honored at the American Cinematheque’s Focus on Female Directors, and is currently available to stream online.
